Description
This lifeboat was abandoned near Lena Point in Juneau, Alaska, following the wreck of the Princess Kathleen in 1952. She was built in 1924, with a total length of 369 feet. Following a brief stint as a troop ship in World War II, she was operated by the Canadian Pacific Railroad between British Columbia and Alaska. In 1952, she struck Lena Point. As the tide came in, the stern was swamped and she sank. All passengers and crew were saved. There were no roads on the point at this time. This lifeboat now rests beside Lena Loop Road. It is also available in a color version.
