Description
Douglas Island lies across Gastineau Channel from Juneau, Alaska. A booming gold mining prospect in the early Twentieth Century, it now stands abandoned. The one bustling docks have been reduced to weathered pilings. The beach created by the mine's stamp mills is now a popular recreation site for modern residents of the capital city.
