Description
A raven perches on a rotting piling, left from the Treadwell Mining Complex in Douglas, Alaska. These pilings are adjacent to the site of a cave in in 1917. These pilings were once the support system for the Treadwell Club, a club for the men who worked the mines. It included two bowling lanes, an auditorium, and a pool room. Adjacent to the club was the Natatorium, or swimming pool, complete with water slide. It was destroyed in the cave in. Douglas is now a part of the City and Borough of Juneau.
