Description
It’s the third week of January in Interior Alaska. The light is slowly returning and cabin fever is real. What’s a girl to do? Well, this girl decided to take a road trip, heading East on the Alaska Highway. A hundred miles from our house we hit the small town of Tok, home of the famed Fast Eddy’s. Lunch was fabulous, as always. We followed up with a visit to the grocery store, as our hometown grocery store collapsed on December 2021. With material shortages and shipping delays the store is only three walls and a roof. Our dining and shopping trip was completed in daylight both ways, an important consideration with the sun setting before four in the afternoon.
The small trees indicate there is likely permafrost here. The title refers to the trees, as well as the wandering moose tracks. If you look closely at the distant hillside, you will also spy a small cabin.
