Description
A single mushroom marks the rainy season in Juneau, Alaska. Juneau is nestled in the Tongass National Forest, classified as a temperate rainforest. The fall is typically very wet here, and mushrooms abound. This mushroom was unusually large, and the color really caught my eye.

Maybe 4 inches. I was lying on the ground, trying to shoot while still holding onto the dog’s leash.
