In Alaska, fresh snow on the mountains in August heralds the approach of fall, and the inevitability of winter. As the warm summer weather yields to the shorter days of fall, Alaskans refer to this snow as Termination Dust. Here, the Alaska Range wears a crown of fresh snow, and a wreath of clouds. The was taken just off the Richardson Highway, near Delta Junction.

I am a long-time Alaskan, having lived here since 1970. I am retired from state service, after working for the Alaska Department of Corrections for twenty years. In my spare time, I take pictures. I have enjoyed photography since junior high, and I have an extensive photo library. I am working to turn my pictures into an income source to supplement my retirement. My photos include landscapes, nature photos, and abstracts. I have a particular fondness for shooting abandoned places or objects. Subjects range from Southeast Alaska to Interior Alaska, and the stretch of Canada in between. I retain the rights to all images I have posted here.
